July 23, 2011...I lost one of my favorite musical artist...
Amy Winehouse lost her life to the drugs she couldn’t kick. Here are my two Amy Winehouse albums. These albums’ forever changed how I viewed music. I’ve been a loyal fan ever since 2007. And as a fan I choose not to judge her heavy drug addiction either. I just didn’t care. It was crystal clear that it was bad. She didn’t take a break from the drug abuse one bit. I just prayed she would stay alive long enough so that she could create at least ONE more album for me to hold on to. But sadly, she will not be creating magic on a tune anymore. And this is all I am left with, these two albums’.
I remember when Time Square‘s Virgin Mega store was still around and the #1 hottest place to get music, I asked a store clerk “can you give me ANY and EVERYTHNG Amy Winehouse created…”…this was it, Amy’s album “Frank”.
I will cherish her music. Mainly because, when I was dealing with a painful time in my life, when I didn’t want to live, I listened to “Back to Black’’ and instead giving up, I sang her songs, crying my heart out on my living room floor…allowing her songs to touch my soul. And it helped me move on…it helped me live…I will never get a chance to tell her thank you :(
But I will still say it so that everyone knows…Thank you Miss Amy Winehouse. May your soul rest in peace. I loved you.
